Helped design graphics, promos, and marketing plans, plus project managed photoshoots and shoot photography while on the team for the past four years.
Over the past several years on the University of Minnesota gymnastics team, I felt I could help boost audience engagement, create fun opportunities for the team and supply content for both Gopher Sports' creative team as well as my teammates. I have been able to use my creative thinking for new marketing campaigns and photoshoots, plus contributing to an increase our social platform's followings. I believe helping Gopher Sports and my team with these project helped stretch my creative capabilities and allowed me to have fun with my designs outside of school or work projects!
2021 SOCIAL JUSTICE DESIGNS
I had the opportunity to design t-shirt graphics highlighting social justice awareness. 2020 was a year of learning and 2021 is a year of action. The University of Minnesota gymnastics team choose to capitalize on "Stronger Together," because we are all stronger when working together for change and unity. All gymnastics teams in the Big Ten conference worked together to create a social justice video. Using the video as inspiration, I designed the B1G UNITED shirts that states "Rivals in Sport. Allies for Change." The back of the shirts incorporated each individual team's social justice saying that resonated with them throughout the season, Minnesota's being "Stronger Together". All teams wore these shirts for the Big Ten Championship Tournament March of 2021.
2021 PROJECT MANAGED SOCIAL JUSTICE VIDEOS
This video was thought up, created, scripted, edited and produced by members of the University of Minnesota women's gymnastics team. Ella Sirjord shot, edited and produced the video. My role in this project was to 'direct' and manage, creating the video outline and vision, writing and assigning the script pieces. We felt it was our duty to use our platforms to speak up against social injustice.

Two to four members of each team in the Big Ten were recruited to participate in a conference wide video. I led team meetings over Zoom once a week for 5 weeks. We brainstormed messages we wanted to highlight, quotes, transitions, outline of the video and so on as a group of 25(ish) student-athletes and one videographer. We then created a script, delegated which teams were to say what and left the editing in the hands of Ryan Ruckdaschel, social media guru with the University of Iowa Gymnastics.

2020-2021 GRAPHICS
DESIGN INSPIRATION
Graphics were inspired and designed to look like the schedule card made by the Gopher Sports Creative team.

2019-2020 MARKETING GRAPHICS
I designed posters and graphics to be used at Gopher gymnastics meets. Fans could place their heads in the hole and become a University of Minnesota gymnast, they could measure up to see if they were taller than the shortest girl on the team, or they could pose in front of the poster backdrop as if they were on the 2019-2020 Minnesota Gymnastics poster.
2019-2020 PROJECT MANAGED MPLS PHOTOSHOOT
Photography by Jessica Frankl
I developed the idea of a photoshoot around the most iconic places in Minneapolis to showcase our beautiful city to the nation. Once my coaches were on board and a budget was determined, I hired an amazing photographer, Jess Frankl, and planned the shoot. In total the shoot took 7 hours, we split the team of 20 girls into 5 different groups and shot at 9 locations: Stone Arch Bridge, First Ave, Foshay Tower, Lake Calhoun and Minnehaha Falls to name a few. If you can't tell, we did the shoot at the end of October in 30 degree weather. A little chilly in leotards.
This content was used on social media, graphics and to send to potential recruits.
VISION BOARDS
Created vision board collages for the past two season as a visual representation of the goals we were working towards each year.
2018-2019 SOCIAL MEDIA GRAPHICS
Created ranking, meet day, and traveling day graphics to post on Instagram, Instagram stories, Twitter and to overlay onto videos.
OTHER DESIGNS
Created coloring book pages for fans to color while in quarantine and designed competition leotards for future University of Minnesota gymnasts to potentially wear.
